About Cooper

I was born in New York in 2008. I was given away and somehow found myself down here in Palm Harbor, FL, living with a young man in a condo. I lived there for a couple months but then he had to find me a new home too. His girlfriend thought I was intimidating and she did not like me. My soon to be new dad, Brian, found me through an ad on Craigslist. From the moment we met I knew I was safe and that this was going to be forever. I remember the ride to my new home. He put me in the back of his Jeep Grand Cherokee and I couldn't stop smelling the back of his head.

As time went on I made some mistakes. I ate the armrest on dad's new sofa. I would also steal his loaves of bread off the kitchen counter when he wasn't looking. I wasn't allowed on the sofa, but when dad would leave I would sleep there all day. Eventually, I started to behave so well that dad would take me to do fun things like go mudding in the woods.  He even took me to work with him to clean pools for the day.

In 2011 my dad met my mom and that is when things got even better for me. We were a complete family. Mom let me break all of dad's rules. She let me sleep in the bed, get on the sofa, and even allowed me to beg at the dinner table. Life was really good with mom in the picture! I also had two brothers and two sisters. My sister Kaele was so pretty. I would just stare at her all day.

I had a great life! Sadly towards the end I started to have some heart issues and was eventually diagnosed with terminal bone cancer. I was in a lot of pain but my humans continued to take good care of me and gave me lots of love and attention. They were by my side till my very last breath. If I had one wish it would be for all my friends in rescues to find and experience the love I had with my family.
